The Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (hereinafter referred to as "EKIP") started its work on 8 March 2001, as an independent national regulatory authority for electronic communications and postal services. The basic principles that the EKIP has applied in the activities related to sector regulation, have been to ensure a certain and predictable business environment for the operation of undertakings and for their significant investments; to create conditions for the implementation and development of new technologies in the whole territory of Montenegro, with the promotion of rational utilization of limited resources (radio-frequencies and numbering/addresses); to promote competition and prevent the distortion of market competition among operators; to resolve disputes between operators, and to constantly improve the protection of users' interests.
Managing bodies of the Agency under the Law on Electronic Communications are the Council of the Agency and the Executive Director of the Agency. The Agency's Council has the President and four Members. The Agency has 69 employees, including the President, Council Members and the Executive Director.
EKIP delegation visits RATEL
Belgrade, 21 October 2019 - Delegation of the Agency for electronic communications and postal services of Montenegro (EKIP), headed by the Council President Branko Kovijanić and Executive Director Darko Grgurović, has finished its two-day visit to RATEL. This time, the guests from Montenegro were acquainted with current RATEL's projects and activities, with a special view to the RF spectrum monitoring system development.
The EKIP delegation visited the renovated Monitoring and measurement center in Niš and remotely controlled monitoring and measurement station located at Povlen.
