Regulators in EaP countries discuss on development of 4G networks and services

 Chișinău, 3 November 2015 - A two-day seminar for specialists of electronic communications regulators of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) dedicated to the implementation of practices and development of 4G networks and services is taking place in Chișinău these days. The seminar, hosted by ANRCETI, is organized by the Group of Electronic Communications Regulators in EaP countries (EaPeReg) under a technical assistance project of the European Commission (EC).

The event involved specialists of the regulatory authorities in the six EaP countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) and experts in the field from the regulators of other European states (Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania). This is the fourth seminar organized by EaPeReg in 2015. The main purpose of these seminars is to provide the necessary support to regulators in EaP countries in harmonizing national practices for regulating the electronic communications sector with the European standards.

The agenda provides, among others, discussion of a set of current issues related to the implementation of the digital dividend radio frequencies in the UHF band, the challenges in developing the networks and 4G services, presented by experts from the regulatory authorities in Germany, Macedonia and Lithuania.
