EKIP auctions out 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2 GHz and 2.6 GHz bands for the implementation of public mobile networks

 Podgorica, 5 May 2016 - EKIP adopted the decision to initiate the tender procedure for granting authorizations for the use of radio frequencies in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2 GHz and 2.6 GHz ranges for the implementation of public mobile electronic communication networks. Public bidding will be conducted in the format that corresponds to the standard auction CCA (Combinatorial "Clock" Auction) type. A total of 625 MHz will be up for grab. If all the radio-frequency resources were sold in the auction, Montenegro's state budget can be expected to receive a revenue of at least € 40 million. All interested parties may request for participation in the process tendering submitted no later than 06. 06. 2016.

The decision to launch the tender procedure was made after comprehensive preparations, appropriate studies, expert analysis and two rounds of consultation with all stakeholders. Read more, on EKIP's website, here...
